GPO HEALTH partners with ACAP to Improve Care for Vulnerable Populations

GPO HEALTH announced that it has been selected as a Preferred Vendor for the Association for Community Affiliated Plans, a national trade association which represents not-for-profit Safety Net Health Plans serving members in  Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplaces and other public health coverage programs. As a Preferred Vendor, GPO HEALTH will work with Safety Net Health Plans to transform supply chain management and procurement for their Healthcare IT services.

“GPO HEALTH is honored to be selected by ACAP as a Preferred Vendor.  Utilizing our Platform, members will drive down costs, improve quality and increase efficiency to ultimately create savings and improve care for the most vulnerable populations in our communities.  It’s a perfect match with GPO HEALTH’s mission to enable our clients to release savings and increase quality to improve and save lives,” said Jeffrey Heenan-Jalil, Founder and CEO of GPO HEALTH.

The Healthcare IT services sector is a multi-billion-dollar market where excessive complexity has been built into the process of defining and delivering services. GPO HEALTH has created the first near-real-time* (NRT) platform that breaks down the complexity. Where traditional procurement analysis and reviews take weeks, even months, to negotiate and deliver, often producing outdated and incomplete results, GPO HEALTH has created the Single Source of Truth across Accounts Payable, IT Procurement and Contract Management.

Lowering IT costs

Our Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms provide NRT transparency of this data enabling Health Plans to lower their IT services costs, and increasing efficiency through competitive benchmarking, access to alternative vendors and new procurement optimization insights.

“GPO HEALTH shares our vision of providing high-quality health care to people with low incomes and with complex health care needs. We are delighted to welcome them as an ACAPPreferred Vendor,” said ACAP CEO Margaret A. Murray. “We look forward to learning from them about how their platform can help Safety Net Health Plans more tightly focus their resources on improving the quality and efficiency of care for the people we serve.”

ACAP-member plans cover more than 20 million people through Medicaid, Medicare, Health Insurance Marketplaces, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and other publicly supported government programs. Through these programs, and through initiatives that help address social determinants, fight opioid abuse, address childhood obesity, and care for children with special health needs, Safety Net Health Plans provide health coverage that helps their members lead healthy, productive lives. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., ACAP advocates on behalf of its member Safety Net Health Plans operating throughout the United States.
